IBT Controls design control system for Urban Hub Preston
The site of the former Thomas Powell & Sons limited Victorian biscuit factory which dated back to 1892 on Moor lane, is being replaced with multi-million-pound scheme providing modular student accommodation to compliments UCLan’s vision to provide 21st century students with modern accommodation, including high-speed Wi-Fi, dining areas, a gym, study and social spaces.
IBT Controls were engaged to design the new control system for the £35 million student residence. The development by Pillars will provide 425 apartments over four six-story blocks. The 42,000 square feet development will be designed around a green courtyard and open later this year.
The BMS system will provide enhanced performance of the newly installed heating and hot water services, utilising the latest technology to provide optimum comfort for the students.
