Peel Media specified an open protocol KNX lighting controls for their ground breaking development at Salford Quays. This choice gave them the benefits of a multiple vendor system which doesn’t tie them down to a single source for either product or engineering.

During the tenancy of the buildings, due to the open nature of the protocol and its architecture, the systems has been extensively upgraded without major refurbishments taking place, thus allowing the buildings to stay at the forefront of technology without major disruptions.

IBT Controls delivered a mixture of lighting controls to both the buildings and public realm, integration services, HVAC control and energy management across the entire site.

Utilising both a open lighting control system and BMS has allowed extensive integration between the two system to allows considerable savings to be achieved against a more traditional approach.
