Scope of works: Detailed design, supply, installation, control and programming of BMS controls.

The Liverpool Life Sciences Accelerator building is a key building in the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicines research capability.

This unique project required the integration of KNX floor controls into a TREND 963 supervisor, to ensure that the institutes facilities team could control and monitor the building BMS operation from an interface they were familiar and experienced with.

The controls included cascaded close VAV pressure control through a number of highly sensitive rooms involved in the development and testing of tropical medicines.

Electrical metering data was provided from each lab space to enable billing of energy usage for 3rd parties letting the laboratories.

PIR monitoring of occupancy ensures heater batteries operate to space temperature setpoints according to occupancy status of each room or area.

Underfloor heating, Supply and Extract air damper control and door curtain control all form part of a wider building heating system.

Specialist monitoring of Cryo store rooms, backup generators and comms spaces ensures that the facilities team are quickly made aware of any building critical issues through the TREND 963 alarm console.
