Located in Knightsbridge on the edge of Hyde Park, Bvlgari Hotel London is both a haven of calm in the centre of the city and yet under a minute’s walk from such landmarks as the famous Harrods department store. The Bvlgari has set new standards among the luxury hotels of the British capital. Elegant contemporary architecture and Bvlgari’s legendary flair for design are matched by class-leading quality of service.

The Bvlgari Hotel, was the first hotel in the UK to be designed to a 7 start rating. With this requirement in mind, IBT Controls was asked to develop a range of bespoke switches and room controllers to match the finish of these exquisite rooms. With comfort being paramount, precise control of the space in terms of lighting and heating was required. IBT Controls decided to choose a KNX / WAGO hybrid as the basis of the room controls to allow a mix of flexibility and compactness. No other system on the market could have delivered the required functionality and control within the footprint allocated to the both the power distribution and controls. Due to this space constraint IBT Controls build bespoke panels which included power distribution, control, door access, panel temperature monitoring and cooling system and remote driver installation for the luminaires.

To completement the room control, IBT delivered the lighting controls and HVAC controls to the communal spaces and back of house. All systems were open protocol and integrated back into a common platform to give a holistic view of the building services and assist in facilities management.
