Amazon – Bristol Distribution Centre

Client: Amazon

Let by: GE

Control Solutions: Tridium Niagara 4, Siemens Gamma lighting controls

Scope of works: Detailed design, supply, programming and commissioning of lighting control system

The lighting control solution for Amazon Bristol provided for complete building DALI led control with daylight dimming, presence, absence detection, scene control, external lighting control and a monitoring and reporting suite.

The busbar system utilised for the storage racking lights meant that the lighting and PIRs had to sit on the same DALI cabling, a one bus cable solution.

The Siemens DALI controllers were selected as the controller for this project due to its ability to utilise OSRAM DALI PIRs and Push button interfaces.

The vast scale of the project required a system design utilising the benefits of IP from a network and traffic perspective to handle the large amounts of data being generated from the numerous DALI networks over the site.

Displaying, monitoring and controlling the lighting system was achieved through the Tridium Niagara 4 platform.
